One thing that makes this show great is the involvement of the community in making Chorley look blooming great.
In addition to the amateur competition covering flower, fruit and vegetable and floral art classes we also have the chance for schools or community groups to take part.
We’ve got two fun competitions and the best in show for each will win £250 of gardening vouchers.
If you’d like to have a go at creating a small garden then this is perfect for you. We’ll provide a 2m x 2m edged area and a backboard and we’re encouraging schools or community groups to let their imagination run wild!
It was such a popular part of last year’s show and you can theme it how you see fit – it might be based on Chorley, a school project, film or book-themed or whatever you like.
You will received a 2.2m x 1.6m backboard to decorate and you will have access to plant the edged area from Monday 22 July
If you’re more into recycling and would like to transform a bit of rubbish into a blaze of colour then why not create us a miniature garden?
Anything goes from old car tyres to the kitchen sink or wellington boot as long as it is no bigger than one metre square. It can be planted with anything from vegeables to flowers or perennials and entrants will be judged on the creativity of their garden, from how it is planted to the theme and visual appeal.
